Click and Pledge Complaint

Foreign Transactions

This company, although based in the United States, processes its transactions overseas. You may very well have to pay foreign transactions fees on your credit.

I was charged such a fee too. I don't find the response by CEO Razvan to be very revealing. It said that banks have started to charge more fees. What I want to know is why credit-card companies are targeting his company for fees, rather than applying fees to all charitable donations. Has he not protested to the banks? Why are they discriminating against Click and Pledge?

Click and Pledge's response is entirely false.

They never called to answer my complaints. I had to call twice and email five times to get two unsatisfactory responses!

Neither response mentioned that the website had a warning because it did not. I clicked to a statement that said I understood I was donating to PAWS.

The website now has the warning but did not when I donated.

A bad, unresponsive, dishonest organization!

Dear Ms. Fusco

You had contacted Click & Pledge directly and we provided you with all the evidence of the notices on our site. These fees are not charged by Click & Pledge and are charged by banks without any knowledge of Click & Pledge.

This charge ONLY applies to clients that are using our discontinued (no longer offered) in-house system. Clients who have their own merchant account do not see this fee since all their transactions are done 100% in the country of their presence. Clients that choose not to pay the bank's monthly merchant account fees use our in-house accounts which has no monthly fees. The in-house account takes advantage of a global load balancing system to process transactions through the least busy gateway.

We were notified of these charges starting November and a note was added to our system regarding the possibility of this charge. Please see attached. The system will not let you proceed without checking the box. As shown in the attached:

"I understand that this charge will appear as "PAWS - Pet Animal Welfare" on my credit card statement.and it may be subject to international bank fees by my credit card company."

I highly encourage you to read the following article:

What you may also not know is that we have heard of cases that 3 charges were made with the same card & only one card was charged the fee. The bank later waived the fee to the card holder after a conference call with us. This is not a Click & Pledge fee and we have absolutely no knowledge of it. Our merchant gateway is also totally unaware of this. Card issuing banks charge this and it is your card issuing bank that is charging this.

Click & Pledge was founded and is headquartered in US. We are also incorporated in Canada and in Great Britain. We service clients in over 40 countries and transact in 35 currencies. Having said all this - our in-house (versus merchant) system processes transactions based on a global load balancing system where transactions are processed through the least busy gateway. This is how we have operated since 2008 with the introduction of our Trio multi-currency system. We started hearing of this international fee issue early November 2009.

You had called and have discussed this issue multiple times with our support and customer service department. We have notified our client of your complaint and will share this latest complaint with them as well. We take pride in our customer relations and work closely with all of our clients to ensure their full satisfaction with our product. Should you choose to do a conference call with the organization we gladly can arrange the call to further answer all your issues with the organization directly involved.

With Regards,
Kamran Razvan
